North Carolina State Flag
The flag for the State of North Carolina, United State of America.
North Carolina is a southeastern state, and features much coastal area via the Atlantic, Piedmont (or rolling hills) regions in much of the state, and the Appalachian Mountains to the far west. The state capital is located in Raleigh, and the largest city to date is Charlotte.
The two dates upon the flag signify the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence and the Halifax Resolves. It is maintained that North Carolina was the first of the Original Thirteen Colonies, to declare independence from Great Britain.
