Historic Richmond Virginia – Bagley Mansion
I present the first mansion for my Historic RVA collection. A generous bloke provided me some improved screenshots that I’ve added to the gallery.
Across from Chimborazo park at 3516 East Broad Street, in the Church Hill neighborhood of Richmond Virginia, resides a 1916 brick beauty with a wide wrap around porch. The 3 level mansion was built for Philip J. Bagley who was a vice-president of a laundry company. His namesake son, Philip Jr, would later go on to be mayor of Richmond from 1968-1970. The property is a contributing structure to the Oakwood-Chimborazo national historic district.
The half height plantation shutters I experimented with on this asset are popular on old grand Richmond homes in the Church Hill, The Fan, and Museum Districts. I choose to go with 8 square posts instead of rounded columns on the front porch to save several hundred on the poly/tri count but it looks no less stately for the sacrifice.
The asset is configured as a 2×4 and will work best as a corner house with the wrap around porch oriented towards the side street.
This building should go well in a New England, Mid Atlantic or Rust Belt based city, as well as many other North American cities. And of course it goes very well with my Historic RVA collection.

The Historic RVA collection attempts to recreate homes of the style constructed in Richmond VA in the period of 1880s-1930. I will continue to grow this collection over time with special focus on the areas of Church Hiill/Chimborazo, The Fan District and the mansions and grand apartments on Monument Ave.
Detailers should enjoy this collection as I will reskin many of the models to offer different variations like you would find in real-life neighborhoods. Could be as simple as brick vs siding or fancy windows versus basic windows. I will do my best to keep the poly counts down and share textures among different models but If you’re playing on a potato then when the collection becomes large you may be best to just pick your favorites from the group rather than download all variations.
