Haraldad Bay – Vanilla Map
=====================
Quick update note (NOV, 6):
I had to update the map since I found a minor problem. One of the outgoing train tracks was missing. Now there is 4/4. Should work fine. I did a quick test.
You may need to unsubscribe and re-subscribe in order to get the updated version. If you already started the game, the update would not affect your current save game. You will need to start a new game in order to work with the update. If you have not started playing the map, please just unsubscribe and re-subscribe again. I AM DEEPLY SORRY FOR THE TROUBLES. Take care.
=====================
This is my first public map for Cities: Skylines. It was partially done in Adobe Photoshop by creating and modifying basic shapes / paths, applying feather / gaussian blur (for soft edges) and mixing a layer containing parts of a heightmap from Terrain Party.
Final terrain adjustments were done directly in the C:S map editor.
I took some time to test the map and everything seems to be working fine.
Suitable area for building: 60%
Outside connections: Highway = 4, Train = 4, Water = 4, Air = 4
Tress: 52.876 / 250.000
Base map theme: Temperate
The map is totally Vanilla, and the buildable terrain is mostly flat. If you want to try some nice map theme for better textures than the vanilla ones, you may try NotSoRocky Hills Map Theme by Khanador.
If you want to modify/relocate natural resources, it can be easily done with Extra Landscape Tools by BloodyPenguin, with will not break your save game or cause FPS dropping.
Screenshot were took using Relight mod by Ronyx69, LUT RelightFilm and the mod Ultimate Eyecandy. The Map them is NotSoRocky Hills by Khanador.
For terrain adjustments, I used some custom brushes for the terrain editor. I’m going to share them with you[www.dropbox.com]. In order to install them, you need to place them in the directory C:UsersYOUR_USERNAMEAppDataLocalColossal OrderCities_SkylinesAddonsMapEditorBrushes

You can use the brushes both in map editor and in-game.
According to user Tenfootpowder in a discussion post "Be aware the more brushes you add the longer it takes to load each time you click the terrain button in either the map editor or BP’s Mod"
If you need more brushes, in a guide by MrMiyagi, he shared some more.
I made the intersections used in the map. Feel free to use them for any other project. But if you prefer to replace them, I have collected several useful intersections.
By default, you can not place tunnels in Map Editor, however, I used the mod Map Editor Tunnels Enabler by BlodyPenguin as a workaround. You DO NOT NEED that mod in-game, it is only needed in map editor. The tunnels will be fully functional in-game. As soon as you buy tiles where there are tunnels, you will see them properly rendered. They will not cause you any troubles.
I do hope you really enjoy playing my map. Feel free to share with me any screenshot of you project using my map, I would like to see what you have done.
