Mihai Viteazul Monument

It’s a Monument in honor of Michael the Brave again for his victory in the Battle of Guruslău, that is located in Sălaj, Romania. The first smaller monument was erected in 1928, but it was demolished by the Hungarian authorities. In 1976 a new more imposing monument was built on top of a hill and commemorates the battle of Guruslău from 3rd August 1601, when Mihai Viteazul defeated Prince Báthory Zsigmond. The monument is in concrete and travertine and is 26 meters high. Scenes from the battles are carved on the pedestal in stone and above it rises the obelisk, composed of 3 parallel blades, representing the three Romanian countries, from the outside upwards being applied the coat of arms respective. The building was created by the sculptor Victor Gaga and is registered on the list of historical monuments.
