Midnight Passage
Welcome to Midnight Passage!
Legend has it that centuries ago two nations were at war with each other. The war was reaching the end, and the capital city of the Ancestors was about to fall.
The king decided to send some of his citizens towards the unexplored seas of the west, so that they could escape their imminent defeat. Helped by Sidera, the goddess of the night, they set sail. They sailed for 9 days and 9 nights, hoping to finally find a new home.
And when the Midnight Star, the home of Sidera, was at its highest in the sky, a new land appeared in the distance. The following morning, they settled in a beautiful rich land between two hills, with many islands that kept their boats safe from the winds and the waves. From there they expanded around the nearby bay, where they could prosper in peace.
Some of the remnants of those villages are still visible to this day.
—- DETAILING —-
The map is mostly vanilla, only the Chaomenlond Bridge is almost essential, since it’ll be the main feature during your gameplay.
Terrain is all handmade, and mostly centered around the 25 tiles.
You can use Ultimate Eyecandy to set the sun in the correct position: Latitude: 45°, Longitude: -89°. This is not essential, it will just make the map true to the backstory.
I used the Relight Warm LUT, but if you want a more temperate look, the Laviante LUT or the Vanilla European LUT work really well.

Buildable area and resources are mostly centered around the 25 tiles, so you can easily reach different environments and all resources with just the vanilla 9 tiles.
The start square intersection has two exits into the start square: the first one, the roundabout, carries the majority of traffic from the elevated highway, while the other road has traffic from the other highway. This separates the amount of traffic while making the intersection more compact, leaving you more build space.
East of the start square there is a water spawn point that will suck away your sewage and the water that naturally comes in from the ocean, this leaves many locations where you can put your water pumps.
