Description:

Kolam Bulan, which roughly translates to ‘Pools of the Moon’, named after the distinctive shape of the volcanic pools in the north west of the region, has long since been revered as an area of natural beauty and spiritual significance. Conversely, it also has strategic and economic importance due to being the only area for hundreds of miles with road, rail, sea and air connections. Consequently, there grows a friction between conservation and progress, as nature makes way to concrete and the new builds over the old.

Though this map is entirely fictional it is inspired by areas such as Kelimutu[goo.gl] and Sumbawa Besar[goo.gl] in Indonesia.

There are four outside road connections, four outside rail connections with dedicated lines for passenger and freight, an outside sea connection and a flight path. There are plenty of natural resources, water sources and plenty of build space.

This map was created from a save game so:

• Make sure that Prop & Tree Anarchy is set to ‘always on’ and that Fine Road Tools is enabled BEFORE you load the map (else you’ll see floating props, catenary chaos etc.).
• Make sure Unlimited Trees mod is enabled with the slider set to 6 BEFORE you load the map (else you’ll have blocks of missing trees).
• If you intend to use 81 Tiles mod DO NOT start a new game with this enabled! Start a new game with 81 Tiles mod DISABLED, save the game straight away and exit to desktop. Reload the game, enable 81 Tiles mod, load your save and unlock tiles required. Then you must save the game, exit and reload once again. Only after doing this will all the tiles render properly – yes, I know this is a pain, but you only need to follow this process once before you start playing on the map.
• This map is highly detailed, so if you’re planning on building a large/detailed city then you should be prepared to remove some of the decorative environmental props. Alternatively, if you are concerned about performance and/or prop limits I have provided a seperate low detail version of this map – Kolam Bulan (Low Detail).

For best results use Theme Mixer 2 and load the Kolam Bulan Theme Mix.

• Extra Landscaping Tools – there are a lot of rivers and water spawn point on the map so, to make certain areas buildable, you may have to use the water tools in this mod.
• 81 Tiles – to make the most of the map you really need to break out of the basic 9 or 25 tiles.
• Catenary Replacer – though I took time to line up all catenaries, it’s always a bit of a gamble when loading the map so you could use this mod to remove them.
