Description:
LAVIANTE 2.1 MAP THEME FOR TEMPERATE BIOMES.

This map theme is a derivative work from the original Laviante 2.0 by Arnold J. Rimmer and notDONEyet.

It was done under previous consent from Arnold J. Rimmer (author) and I am publishing it under the same principles as Arnold did:

“You can dump all theme textures, do whatever you want with them.”

Some of the original textures in Laviante 2.0 are untouched, others are new or added from Laviante 1.41:

  • Grass Texture from Laviante 1.41
  • Ruined Texture from Laviante 1.41, reworked with Photoshop.
  • Sand diffuse and normal from Laviante 1.41
  • Ore and Oil are brand-new textures I made in Photoshop to simulate farm fields / farmland.
  • Gravel: new texture added on 2021/03/27. Now train tracks will look great.

WHY AM I DOING THIS?

I was making a map and I was using Laviante 2.0, and although I do love the theme, I wanted to tweak it a bit. Of course, I could have done that with Theme Mixer 2, but some people prefer to go with the smaller number of mods as possible, and in the other hand, I thought this time it was for the best to create a single solution, instead of a theme mix (for Theme Mixer 2).

So, I asked for permission from the original author, and although this is not exactly what I was looking for at the beginning, the resulting product pleased me a lot. So, I am sharing it with all of you, hoping you all enjoy it.

TIPS
  • I strongly recommend using Relight to get the best of the theme. Check preset configuration in the last picture.
  • Although I strongly recommend Reaper_Realistic_Final_Look LUT, you could use the one of your choice, but you will not get the same visual experience, and will need to make your own adjustments for light/shadow/color if you use Relight.
  • Sand and ruined sometimes get mixed and you could take advantage of that to simulate mossy texture.
  • You could use sand to paint under water, or simply leave it like that, depending on the deepness of the water.
  • If you want to use this theme in European, Boreal or Tropical biomes/maps, you may use either Environment Changer (+ Improved Theme Selection) or Theme Mixer 2.

CREDITS

I would like to say thanks and give proper credit to Arnold J. Rimmer and notDONEyet. They did an awesome work. I am not pretending to do it better than they did, just adding some personal touch.
