it’s a bit "heavy assets" but as you can see from the screenshots I needed a good variety of trees to cover different biomes.
I tried to keep the assets count reasonable so I removed a lot of things, like the railway replacer (recommended), a custom quay in the starting tile (needed when you will start to build) and many other things that I used but were specific to mine city.
I kept lot of Ronyx69 decals because they are great and everyone should really have them.
About the map:
This is the final version of an incomplete map I published last year (I didn’t have time to work on it anymore).
"Final" because I’m working on a new project:;)
It’s a mix of six different Heightmaps reterraformed and smoothed together to achieve the effect I wanted.
Mountains at the edges, River in the midle with mostly flat terrain and a bit of hills and access to the sea in at least one of the 25 tiles in the north
Conection:
Mass Transit DLC required
4 Highways
4 Train
4 Airplane
2 Ship
Used fences from dlc industries and probably something from park life so if you don’t have this dlc you could still try but i don’t know if it could be a problem or not.
Terrain Height:
Starting tile is quite flat and easy to build but there are still many areas with more challenging terrain.
Trees and performance:
312k trees so you need unlimited trees mod.
I tried to keep the tree count below 250k, but after playing many beautiful 1MILION+ trees maps I decided that 312k was an excellent compromise between aesthetics and performance.
Performance was also one of the reasons why I created a specific map theme instead of using thememixer (saving some fps).
The map in general is very detailed, but the further you get from the 25 tiles, the more I have removed unnecessary details (up to completely removing even the trees at the edges of the map).
I built a 100k city/2k assets on it with a 5-year-old computer and had no problems.
10k props used, almost half of them are underwater vegetation under the sea, so if you are going to build a city with a lot lot of props this is probably where you will want to eliminate some of them.
Resources and water
Plenty of resources almost everywhere.
It is Summer, so the water level in the rivers is a little low.
For this reason I created a small artificial lake with already active pumps, I took all the water for a 100k city only from there. (Instead of draining the rivers)

Relight and ultimate eyecandy settings:
See screenshot. (and remove train bridge pillars under the main bridge, does’nt work in map editor :; ).
Changing the climate:
I placed the trees thinking of a solution in case someone liked the map but needed a warmer or colder climate.
So I placed a majority of generic trees (low poly trees, generic trees, generic shurbs) and some specific trees that define the climate (in this case Mediterranean)
Using prop it up tool shift + p and you can replace more specific trees for example:
Stone Pine Set >>> other pines for colder climates or palm trees for warmer ones
Olive Tree >>>
Lombardy Poplar >>>
Quercus ilex >>>
This combined with a different LUT works quite well in changing the look of the map.

This map was created from a save game so:
Make sure that Prop & Tree Anarchy is set to ‘always on’ and that Fine Road Tools is enabled BEFORE you load the map (else you’ll see floating props, catenary chaos etc.).
If you intend to use 81 Tiles mod DO NOT start a new game with this enabled! Start a new game with 81 Tiles mod DISABLED, save the game straight away and exit to desktop. Reload the game, enable 81 Tiles mod, load your save and unlock tiles required. Then you must save the game, exit and reload once again. Only after doing this will all the tiles render properly – yes, I know this is a pain, but you only need to follow this process once before you start playing on the map.
Thanks to all assets and mod creator.
