Four to twelve storey office building complex. The building complex consists of four to five building parts, depending on how you look at it. These are grouped in a U-shape around an inner courtyard. The building heights vary. The parts of the building are connected to one another by a ground floor plinth. Some of these are enlivened as roof terraces or roof gardens. The ground floor plinth is two-story. Two-storey ground floors are often used in food retailing and for retail goods with a high need for presentation as well as offices / administrations with customer contact. The upper floors contain only office use. The upper floor of the tower building is an open air floor and contains the technical building infrastructure. The ground floor plinth is based on sandblasted concrete elements. The upper floors on a curtain aluminum facade.
The complex is inspired by projects from Nürnberg/Nuremberg and Paderborn. In his design, however, it represents its own interpretation. I was looking for a plausible architectural and urban planning solution at a roundabout in my city project. In the course of dealing with the cited location, the idea arose to develop structures on the side facing the roundabout, the position of which would take up the radius of the roundabout. The property is oriented to the river and to the southwest. This also results in an – here U-shaped – opening of the building complex towards the river. The traffic area in front of the building complex opens up one of the few crossings of the central river. With the creation of a tower, an architectural landmark can be seen from afar. The other four parts of the building vary in height. At the same time, they are based on the building heights of the surrounding buildings. Making roof areas usable as meeting places and roof gardens is currently a very topical issue in architectural development.
Different light tones are assigned to the illumination. For stairwells – as escape routes – a bright light. Different, rather warmer light colors for different offices. Thus, the windows shine at different times in different light colors or intensities.
The publication takes place as a small package. It consists firstly of the building complex with props and trees and secondly of the building complex without props and tress.
The total effort is over 40 hours. The UV mapping of the three-dimensional facade took up a lot of time.
