镇江地处中国华东地区、江苏南部,是南京都市圈成员城市、扬子江城市群重要组成部分,西衔南京、南靠常州、北邻扬州,是华东地区重要的交通中枢。境内京沪铁路、京沪高铁、沪宁高铁、沪蓉高速公路、扬溧高速公路、312国道、104国道等通达全国各主要城市,是长江与京杭大运河唯一交汇枢纽,长江流域第三大亿吨港口镇江港通江达海。 [4]
镇江是国家历史文化名城,在春秋时称为“朱方”,战国时改称“谷阳”,秦朝时称“丹徒”,三国时为“京口”,南朝宋在京口设“南徐州”,隋统一后改置“润州”,镇江之名自北宋至今,民国时期为江苏省省会。 [5]
2019年,全年实现地区生产总值4127.32亿元,按可比价计算增长5.8%;实现一般公共预算收入306.85亿元,比上年增长1.8%。

Zhenjiang, formerly known as Jingkou, Runzhou and Nanxu, is a prefecture level city in Jiangsu Province and one of the 27 cities in the center of the Yangtze River Delta [1]. It is an important port and scenic tourism city in the Yangtze River Delta approved by the State Council [2]. As of 2018, the city has three districts and three county-level cities under its administration, with a total area of 3847 square kilometers, a built-up area of 179 square kilometers, a permanent population of 3196400, a urban population of 2277200, and a urbanization rate of 71.2%. [3]

Zhenjiang is located in East China and the south of Jiangsu Province. It is a member city of Nanjing metropolitan area and an important part of Yangtze River city group. It ranks Nanjing in the west, Changzhou in the South and Yangzhou in the north. It is an important traffic center in East China. Within the territory of Beijing Shanghai railway, Beijing Shanghai high speed railway, Shanghai Nanjing high speed railway, Shanghai Chengdu expressway, Yangli expressway, 312 National Road, 104 National Road and other major cities across the country, it is the only junction hub between the Yangtze River and the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal, and Zhenjiang port, the third largest 100 million ton port in the Yangtze River Basin, reaches the sea through the river. Zhenjiang is a famous historical and cultural city in China. It was called "Zhufang" in the spring and Autumn period, "Guyang" in the Warring States period, "Dantu" in the Qin Dynasty, "Jingkou" in the Three Kingdoms period, and "Southern Xuzhou" in the Southern Song Dynasty. After the unification of the Sui Dynasty, it was changed to "Runzhou". Zhenjiang has been named since the Northern Song Dynasty and the capital of Jiangsu Province in the Republic of China. [5]

In 2019, the annual GDP will be 412.732 billion yuan, an increase of 5.8% based on comparable price; the general public budget revenue will be 30.685 billion yuan, an increase of 1.8% over the previous year.
