MUSEUM AZLK (Automobile Plant named after Lenin Komsomol)
The building was designed by Yuri Regentov and opened in 1980. The museum was located in Moscow at Volgogradskiy prospect, 42, building 2.
Under the domed roof of the newly opened hall, there are classic models of the domestic auto industry, including the first Fords of the 1930s, and experimental projects that were just going through the stage of creating a sample at the plant. In addition, the exposition included unique pieces that had never been mass-produced.
The design bureau of the plant also presented at the exhibition its developments of new practical and modern cars for those times. Among the prototypes were the models "Svyatogor", "Prince Vladimir", jeeps, pickups, specialized cars for the police and ambulance.
In 1996, the museum was closed due to the bankruptcy of the owner’s plant. Currently, the building houses the Museum of the Machine Uprising.
