BACKGROUND 歴史:
Kisuki-line colour scheme, a line in Shimane and Shoubara Prefectures.

This is a diesel railcar used on many rural lines in Japan, built in the mid 1990s by Niigata Transys (then known as Niigata Ironworks). It’s family is the Niigata "NDC" (New Diesel Car) of diesel railcars, most of which look similar.

The vehicle using was developed using some bus or bus-like components such as the doors, the engine and air-conditioning unit, but it’s a proper train-car, and not a railbus. The 0-Series is the second generation of the KiHa 120 series and it’s main difference is a stainless-steel body.

This version represents modifications between the dates of 2017 and 2019 performed to the vehicles such as; the addition of toilets (the blanked out windows), LED tail lights, a safety system to prevent doors from being opened unless next to a platform, and new labelling and stickers.
