Hello fellow mayors, and welcome to Bedrock the only city in the world with over 1 million population. It was made using the Hard mode with no cheats, all game mechanics working and no shortcuts. Yabadabadoo!!!

Inspired by my favorite cartoon from childhood this city represents around 500 hours of work. It was a basis for a Let’s play series which lasted for 101 episodes from 2015.-2020. A long pause was made from 2015. to 2019. as the building limit was hit at 500,000 population and only later did the developers raise the building limit to 48k.

In this last episode of this monumental 101 episode long Let’s play, I showed how the city was expanded from 950,000 population, when the Citizen units was a big problem and a block to growth, over 960k with a solution I came up with, and all the way to 1,000,013 population.

Mods used:

Employ Overeducated Workers V2 and
Hard mode.

Game version 1.12.3.

Metro never worked out as Cims have everything at walking distance. Traffic is very light because of the 16k vehicle limit, 87-92% traffic flow. The balance of goods/products is really on a knifes edge, so don’t mess around with it or you will have mass abandonment of Commercial and Industry buildings. There is always a demand for more Commercial but no real need for it. Buses are not used, as to not waste vehicles, but bus stops and lines are used to help level up buildings. Parks where eliminated to reduce the Citizen Limit and allow for 1 million Cims to move in. Then they where put back in, that is why coverage is not perfect. Highways build over parks would have to be deleted to allow for larger parks under them, and then rebuilt. I didn’t do that, you can.

RCI zones are mixed but the pollution is low so there is no problem. You might find the odd Residential building with some sound pollution but that happens because of extra traffic in that street. Watch out for the water supply as it is necessary for power production in the Large hadron collider.

Have a blast with it, I am retired.

Update:
So Biffa, popular Cities: Skylines YouTube content creator, checked out Bedrock and tuned up it’s traffic and roads. See what he did in this video:
