RAILWAY 2 – Hell Gate Bridge Complex (Current State)
Railway 2 is a brand new network package which is packed with numerous new features, while maintaining the existing features of original Railway 1 project. It also brings new types of networks such as quads and mainlines. Check Railway 2 Guide in the collection, linked above.
The Hell Gate Bridge, originally the New York Connecting Railroad Bridge or the East River Arch Bridge, is a 1,017-foot (310 m) steel through arch railroad bridge in New York City. Originally built for four tracks, the bridge currently carries two tracks of Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor and one freight track across the Hell Gate, a strait of the East River, between Astoria in Queens, and Randalls and Wards Islands in Manhattan.
Hell Gate for Cities: Skylines is the result of a collaboration between me and Armesto. I handled steel structure of the bridge complex, and Armesto handled the stonework; pillars and bridge tower, as well as the color correction of variants.
This is the second variant of Hell Gate Complexes. This version represents the current state of the bridge, that is the post-primer state after the failed attempt of painting the bridge red. The pink-ish weird color is the result of the defective paint mix that was used in late 1990s, resulted this color shade, which also led a lawsuit between Amtrak and the paint company. Despite the fact there are occassional petitions to ask Amtrak to repaint the bridge properly, there are no plans to repaint Hell Gate with a proper paincoat.

- Viaduct network: Contains the ground abutment and node switches with other networks. Elevated, nodeless viaduct network.
- Bridge network: Contains the main arch on bridge prefab and transition networks on elevated prefab.
- Uses the power of Adaptive Roads for in-game customization.
- Part of Railway 2: USA expansion, that features accurate rail profile, 1:1 scaled wire height and many more features.
All Hell Gate networks recycle textures and materials between each other. Pillars also have shared texture and material properties for optimization.
Comes as electrified networks. Use Network Skins to disable wires on-dragging, or Catenary Replacer to cancel wires map-wide. Part of RAILWAY project, thus requires Railway Replacer to customize track props.
