Siemens Desiro City Class 707 – Southeastern ‘City Beam’
The class 707, introduced into service in 2017, was built by Siemens under their Desiro City platform for use on South Western Trains commuter services from Reading and Windsor to London Waterloo. However following the franchise takeover by South Western Railway and subsequent order of new class 701 Bombardier Aventras for all southwest London metro services the 707s became surplus to requirements, being transferred over to Southeastern from 2021. These trains will form ‘City Beam’ metro services between Charing Cross, Cannon Street, and areas of southeast London. The train comes in a formation of 5 coaches, often seen in running in tandem to form 10 coach trains and is fitted to operate on 750V DC third rail traction, with no pantograph fitted, with future conversion a simple process.
This pack contains both the standard 5 coach train as well as a 10 coach (5+5) train, both in Southeastern livery with capacities of 380 and 760 passengers respectively.
