Housing Project
A large communal housing project for cities of the future.
The building itself is 40 floors, 200m tall.
Consists of the building structure, and shimmering railings as props on the balcony ledges.
Sits on a 12×12 plot.
Building has no colour variation, the railings do.
After working on this building and experiencing various issues pertaining to import, I’ve settled with what little issues seem to occur in the rendering of the lod.
I had made this in various different arrangements, and finally has resulted in this product.
The lod result is essentially the lesser of about 10 evils I’ve tried, and at least it looks okay, as the triangle count isn’t too much.
I spent a lot of time on the texturing, and made some compromises having changed various pieces of this from sub-buildings to props and back to the main structure having also used other textures at certain points but ran into some funky issues with lod rendering and mesh.
Ultimately, this is for fun so I figure the result is acceptable. I certainly think it was a neat project, and as with any others, I’ve learned immensely from creating, importing, planning, and re-working.
