located in Xicheng District, Beijing.
The Imperial Household Department was an institution, which primary purpose was to manage the internal affaires of the Qing imperial family and the activities of the inner palace. It was also in charge of the ceremonial and spiritual activities of the Qing imperial household. In 1726, investigating censors were appointed to the Imperial Household Department, who were in charge of internal investigations and impeachment.
