Description:

A cityscape is awaiting for its growth among the cliffs of Prism Ridges. Plenty of flat, easily buildable space for a large city with still great scenery to compliment your city! Also great countryside options located a bit further from the main highways, waiting for your own choice of utilization. Will you expand the main city to absurd lengths or will you create a peaceful countryside village located away from the booming town? Or perhaps you wish to preserve the beautiful natural formations and build a national park that your citizens can enjoy! Here, between the ridgelines, the choice is yours!

Don’t be intimidated by the long list of requirements! In actuality the list consists of:
• 4 mods
• 3 map themes
• 1 set of trees
• 2 Custom bridge assets
• 1 custom highway set, which makes up most of the list. With the Loading Screen Mod, these require hardly any memory.

Use the one-click collection for easy subscription to everything 🙂

A short list-style description of this map:

  • Plenty of flat buildable space. Still variable terrain heights in some locations. See the last image for overviews of the map, including a heightmap.
  • 400K Trees. Low poly trees used to achieve a good performance regardless.
  • All transportation modes present.
  • The existing highway network (specifically the main interchange) can soak up a lot of traffic. Traffic should not be an issue for a long long while. The interchange is designed in a way in which most, if not all lanes are being used and TMPE should not be necessary to avoid traffic jamming.
  • Very usable natural resources, ore is a bit scarce within the 9-tile area though. Resources have been used a lot for aesthetic purposes as well.
  • Node controller has been used to make really smooth ramps and intersections. Intersection markings are in place as well.

Visual mods to achieve the same look as in the screenshots:

  • LUT: Relight 3 Average
  • Daylight Classic (all to classic)
  • Clouds & Fog Toggler (disable clouds and edge fog)
  • Road Colors Changer ++

Other recommended mods:

  • 81 Tiles to take advantage of all the space provided. Works really well with just 25 or even the vanilla 9 tiles too!
  • Prop & Tree anarchy to prevent some trees disappearing at launch due to collisions.

If you come across any bugs / issues, please let me know down in the comments. I’ll do my best to make up time to patch up any possible errors! Also feel free to post any questions, critique, compliments, whatever you want to! If you leave a dislike, please leave a comment as to why you disliked my creation so that I’ll know how I can improve in the future. Thanks!

Update comment:

I place high value on transparency and hence I’m giving everyone a heads up on a two minor errors on this map: (brought to my knowledge by BonBonB on his map reviews, thank you BBB!)

1) The rail line connecting to the southwest corner is disconnected due to non-connecting nodes along the line. This does not affect the map’s functionality in any way, other than the fact that there is no intercity trains going to that direction. The other 2 connections are fine and dandy and train traffic is present and working. If this bothers you, it takes 15 seconds to rebuild 2 pieces of the train track OR use a mod that has an utility to connect overlapping nodes, such as the Network Multi Tool.

2) There are some trees on the non-connected highway on the eastern edge of the map. If this bothers you, simply use move it to remove the trees.

Now as to why these errors have managed to slip past my polishing criteria (smashing my head on a wall right now, OCD levels through the roof due to these errors): this map’s creation was started months ago and was left in an unfinished state. Recently I’ve been pumping out my unfinished projects at an increased rate for the community to enjoy to avoid my work going to waste. This is not an excuse for a lower standard though and I’ll have to admit I’ve simply missed these errors. As to why these errors have happened in the first place and have gone unnoticed, apparently my tree anarchy settings were out of whack (might be due to my absence of this game for months, something could’ve gone outdated etc.). The rail line is most likely due to the parallel road tool not connecting nodes properly, which simply should’ve not gone unnoticed by me.

Q: "Why have you not updated the map then to fix these errors??"
A: I fixed the errors (took around 2 minutes in total) and proceeded to trying to update the map. For whatever reason, no matter what I tried, I was unable to update the map despite spending over an hour trying to figure it out. Something must’ve glitched in the process and thus I’m unable to update the map as of now. Apologies for any inconvenience.
