Fortress 1861 pack
The Dutch Water Line (Dutch: Hollandse Waterlinie) was a series of water-based defences conceived by Maurice of Nassau in the early 17th century, and realised by his half brother Frederick Henry. Combined with natural bodies of water, the Water Line could be used to transform Holland, the westernmost region of the Netherlands and adjacent to the North Sea, almost into an island. In the 19th century, the Line was extended to include Utrecht.
On July 26, 2021, the line was added as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The assets:
This pack consist of 10 pieces to make your own fortress. Get creative, there are no rules. If you have no inspiration, four of the assets are designed to create a "torenfort", a type of structure that you still find scatered around the dutch countryside. These old fortress became obsolete when high-explosive ammunition was invented. Today they are still used for a variety of purposes.
