Description:

Welcome to Lagoon Shores!

Some Info

This map is a complete overhaul of the base-game map Lagoon Shores by our developers. The beaches were super steep, the river was rugged, and the map was all lumpy bumpy. This map was a ton of fun getting to sculpt, and was quite challenging as well, especially trying to make the underwater terrain look interesting as well to compliment the name of the map.

The name Lagoon Shores implies that the beaches are rather shallow and full of reefs, so I envisioned that for the entirety of this map.

The Castle

This castle was once home to a superior civilization that fell to an exceptional army that excelled in naval combat. Why was it destroyed? The infamous castle was protecting and worshipping an ancient relic that brought blessings to those who sought it, but cursed those who did not. There was another civilization that lived on the land farther to the east in the mountains that got word and were suffering terribly of this ancient stone. So they sent a messenger to one of their allies overseas that exceeded in naval combat. This naval brigade set sail and managed to destroy this ancient relic with relative ease. But as a consequence of it’s destruction, all settlements would be destroyed, a land wiped clean, ripe for new settlement.

This is where you come in, City Planner, Mayor!

This map is chucked full of resources, especially offshore oil and ore. There are plenty of options inland to help preserve the sensitive lagoons and reefs, so the choice is yours!
You may also notice that the land is dotted with (extinct?) volcanoes that seemed to not have erupted in some years… They look green and lush, so it should be quiet right?
The highway over the volcanic islands is raised in order to help preserve the delicate tropical forest floor. Many endangered species live there and need room to roam, but we also need to move goods quickly, so this was the best option.

Airports DLC Ready

Plenty of space to build your dream airport, right by the water! Or use reclaimed land tactics to expand over the water! The waters are very shallow, so landscaping should be down to a minimum!

Notes

In the pictures taken, I built this map and uploaded it using the following mods:
Node Controller
Intersection Marking Tool

Without these mods, the nodes and markings will be set to their default (vanilla) look. YOU DO NOT need to be subscribed to these for the map to load or work on vanilla. These mods are purely cosmetic and do not alter gameplay in any way besides just looking much nicer!
I say again, you do NOT need to be subbed to ANYTHING.

For Picture Perfect Replica of Screenshots:

I used two themes:
For the cliff, sand, other ground textures, atmosphere, disasters, literally everything besides the water, I used: Oklahoma Summer Theme and the water color and textures (textures/normals are the same in both themes) from my Tropico Theme.
The only way to do this was with the Theme Mixer 2 Mod
