Description:

A tropical island just off the coastline, connected to the mainland by just a railway. The island is awaiting for you, the mayor, to decide how these picturesque landscapes will be utilized. Will you build a tropical tourist trap resort or force nature to bend under the development of a major city? You choose!

This map is rather heavily detailed and is primarily a modders’ / detailers’ map.
The requirement list is extensive, but not extreme. That being said, the map will still need some beef from your machine to run properly.

Please scroll through the description and see the information provided about the map.
I know the description is a bit lengthy, but I hope the layout makes it easier to digest. Read the bits that you consider useful to yourself.

  • All transportation modes present, BUT the main island has only a railway connection.
  • Only 65K Trees, but quite a lot of detail. Hence maybe not the easiest map to run.
  • This is the only one (/first one) of my maps that was sculpted completely without any heightmap data.
  • Buildspace designed to fit in the 25 tile area, but the outskirts’ scenery turned out to be great building space too.
  • The main islands can be utilized fully by unlocking just the vanilla 9 tiles.
  • Even though the detailing is plentiful, I’ve left room for your own detailing too.
  • See the second to last screenshot for an overview of the map.

The map requires quite a few items, hence a one click collection is in place.
Here’s a summary of what’s included (with embedded links):

Here’s a summary of all the visual mods and their settings used in the screenshots. While these are all the mods used, not all of them are necessary to get a 98% accurate result.

Click on any one of the mods and it’ll take you to the mod page. I’ve also included a collection for all the visual mods. Visit the collection for closer instructions!

A note here, if you dislike the underwater detailing choice, see the last screenshot for an alternative look for the map.
If you like the fully sand-painted ocean look, it takes a minute or two to fill in the sand.
I decided to leave the underwater detailing on the map, as it’s easier to "erase" the detailing rather than put it in, leaving you the freedom to choose in a sense.

  • 81 Tiles to utilize the outskirts as well.

Q: Will you release a vanilla / lighter version of this map?
A: Unfortunately I have no intentions of turning this map into a vanilla map. If you’re looking for a lighter version of this map, simply disable assets. The map will work just as intended even with missing assets, the assets will just simply not load -> the map will be a lighter version. I’d start with unsubscribing the Terrain Conforming Mountain Grass, the Large Broad Bush and all the rock assets. This way the map will retain the general look, with a significant performance boost.

Q: Will you release a road-connected-island version of this map?
A: I might consider it, although it would take quite a bit of work and the end result would likely not be satisfactory to me as the map’s design isn’t really suited a road connection so some major reworking would be needed (and I don’t feel like trashing the entire railway to make way for a highway, as it’s a core part of the map). I’m also rather busy nowadays so reworking my old projects is not a top priority for me. We’ll see 🙂

Q: "My map is broken!"
A: I’m always happy to help. When you need help, please try to provide some details to your issue. This way I can provide you with more useful and specific tips and advice!

Q: "Kawabunga wiguwada dabadoo"
A: What?

If you’re reading this, it means you’re really into reading! Thank you, you sir are an exceptional citizen.

This project was more of a detailing project for myself. The style is not what I usually do, but I needed some creative variety. The railway only connection design choice could be seen as being a spiritual successor to Blade Island (/Sylt), from which the design was cut out from. This project certainly satisfied my urge for detailing for now and I’ll get back to creating lighter maps with less requirements.

Thank you for your interest in my work!
