Procedural Objects Fonts: Montburgh Highway Signage: Arrows
Font for use with Procedural Objects which adds directional arrows and Exit Only plaques for navigation signs, based on the United States Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices
Font includes navigation sign directional arrows for straight, left, and right for highway splits, intersections, and roundabouts. Also includes various Exit Only plaques for one- and two-lane exits as well as Option Lanes (where the lane can either exit or continue straight).
No, I do not plan to make fonts for other countries.
Below is the image used by the mod to convert the text you type into the arrows on the sign, but with an overlay showing the grid Procedural Objects Fonts are based on along with Arial font’s layout.
For example, typing T would result in a downward white arrow, and typing HIJ on one line and an S centered on the line below would result in the two-way split arrow.
The top section is rather self explanatory and the only pattern to it is how they are lined up in the image itself (making it easier to see in the in-game conversion display shown when clicking the font name in the text editor of Procedural Objects).
The bottom section is more thought out in terms of what to type to get the desired results.
Let’s start with the standard one-lane Exit Only plaque for an upcomming exit (with the downward-pointing arrow, placed on a sign a distance before the exit itself). To get this on a sign, you’d create a new text field and set the font to MB Arrows, set the spacing to 0, and type 12345. To get the alternate version of this same plaque (the one with the angled arrow, for use on a sign directly at the exit), do the same procedure as the previous, but hold SHIFT when pressing the same numbers (if not using Numpad).
To get the standard two-lane plaque, press 67890-= (- and = are after the 0 on the top number bar of the keyboard) and hold SHIFT for the alternate.
