Although you can play it by 9-tiles vanilla rules, I strongly recommend using 81 tiles mod so you can use all feature and interesting areas outside of central 25 tiles.
For ease of play, I also recommend using MoveIt, Fine RoadTool and Fine Road Anarchy mods.
Also, playing without fog and clouds will allow you to see all those interesting outside areas.
This map has 240.000 trees already. Before building something over trees, use Bulldozer, MoveIt or Tree Brush to delete them, so you can use them later.
When you unlock tile with harbor or dam, water will behave weird and some flooding may occur. Give it several minutes and water will settle.
If you are building something near fortress walls, there’s a chance you will destroy some wall or trench segment. Solution is :
– If you play without mods, save game before building around the fortress
– If you have MoveIt:
- Use Moveit Picker tool and select castle wall
- Select all castle walls in fortress
- Export selection
- Same way select all trenches and export them
- Build whatever you want
- Again select all castle walls in fortress and bulldoze them. Do the same with trenches
- Use MoveIt Import-Restore function and restore intact walls and trenches
If you are upgrading roads over custom bridges, use similar technique.
This map is based on area around Belgrade, Serbia. This is not accurate representation, nor in shape nor scale. Many outside areas are pushed into map from several hundreds kilometers away. Some areas are totally fictional.
That is why I called this map by ancient Roman province that was occupying these territories – Moesia Superior.
- Main two confluencing rivers are Danube and Sava – strong wide rivers with lots of river transport going on.
- Central mountain is called Avala and it’s major landmark of Belgrade, also popular tourist site. Here’s one task for you: build something nice on top of the mountain that will attract tourists to visit.
- Huge fortress in the middle is Singidunum fortress, 2000 year old. Today it’s main city park in Belgrade. You can build city park in it, even make cims to walk on walls.
- East of harbor is Vinca archeological site – 7000 years old. Also interesting tourism location.
- River canyon to the East is pushed into map from 200km away. It’s called ‘The Cauldron.
- Fortress on the entrance of the canyon represents two things that I merged: Golubac river fortress and Viminacium – ancient Roman city.
- On the North, big sandy area represents Deliblato sandplains – desert-like area about 50 km from Belgrade. I made whole area rich in oil, because actual oil fields are somewhere near it.
- On the SouthEast, huge mine pit represents Bor copper mine, brought into map from about 250 km away.
- Green mountains on the south represent central region of Serbia, called Sumadija (Woodland).
Special thanks to Azzolt, Ingenium, Random5 and uncle ron for testing this map and finding a ton of mistakes.
