BIG Quays Modern Reversed Quay
This is a reversed quay version of the Modern Pedestrian Quay released a few weeks ago with same textures. It contains multiple different textures that can be choosen ingame with Adaptive Networks!
A quay is a network with different terrain height on left and right side. The terrain resolution in Cities Skylines is very rough so that you need a minimum of 16m wide network to cover the terrain transition under it. On vanilla quays this transition is hided under the Quay mesh. On my pedestrian quays I use a pavement mesh with bridge shader to hide it. On reversed quays this transition is moved from the landside to the waterside and is hided under a sloped underwater pavement mesh. This will result in some advantages and some disadvantages.
- can be build directly next to any road
- landside terrain is paintable with surface panter
- grass transition (toggable with Adaptive Networks custom flags)
- The water depth on the waterside is set to 20m below landside and can’t be changed. Watch out for flooding when building it
- Please don’t build any intersections with this network. It can be technically done but it looks ugly and will most likely not make sense. Even a connection to BIG pedestrian Quays won’t look good
- end nodes will look strange. I recommend to hide them with some props. With custom AN node flags the node mesh can be removed
