TKO Public Library (Hong Kong)
Tseung Kwan O Public Library is the first library in Tseung Kwan O (TKO), a new town in Hong Kong. It was opened in 2001. The public library consists of 2 floors (not including the rooftop). There are children’s library and study room on the ground floor (one with square windows). The first floor of the building (one with round windows) is intended for adults and multimedia facilities are also available there. The glass pyramid on the rooftop allows natural light to illuminate the central part of the library, providing a comfortable reading environment. The innovative design of the library makes it stand out from the surrounding buildings and become an important landmark in the district.
