Description:
Welcome to Khazgadia

Khazgadia is an amazing tropical map with lots of waterfalls !!! Waterfalls here and there…waterfalls everywhere!!! Be reassured, however… You also have many flat territories to build a magnificent metropolis !!! The country is certainly mountainous, but you have 60% of building area. Here, the most hideous city built by the worst mayor will seem marvelously beautiful as the landscape is breathtaking !!!

This map has :
240,000 trees / 262,000
2 road connections.
3 rail connections.
4 maritime connections.
4 aerial connections.
No castles, but ruined watchtowers, native hamlets, a few lighthouses and two abandoned factories.
A highway connects the main sites available for construction. In addition, a rural road winds through mountains and valleys.
A huge highway interchange is located in one corner of the map. Named "Orange Crush" it was created by Arisandi. All around you have room to build an industrial zone, a seaport, an airport or a university.

Friend of realism, goodbye !!!

Khazgadia is a work that required dozens of hours of work spread over 4 months. Several times I got discouraged and almost gave up on the project. The weariness was such that it seemed impossible to me to publish a map again. For a while, I thought my adventure with Cities Skylines was over…
In November 2021, my initial goal was to embark on a small, non-binding project… to make a small pirate island (4-6 tiles maximum) by embellishing an old map available on the Workshop. So I launched a search with the keyword “island”….After a few clicks, I discovered the map “Island” published by Sakeno on April 23, 2016. I knew that the improvement of this old map was going to be long. But I immediately fell in love with the very whimsical river system !!! That is to say, 4 sources from which emerge an impressive quantity of water to feed many basins and, from which, overflow dozens of waterfalls. I have made no attempt to change this fact. As a result, geological realism has no place here at Khazgadia. However, everything else has been modified, cliffs, islands, relief, mountains, roads, etc… After a break of a few weeks, I started working on this project again in February 2022 and in 2-3 weeks I made most of the work.

This map is not inspired by any real place. However, a section of the rural road is loosely modeled after the "Road to Heaven" located in China’s Tianmenshan National Forest Park. More than 10 km long, the road begins at an altitude of 200 m to reach more than 1200 m with 99 turns, most of which are 180 degrees.
