Description:
Water Drain Pipe

A water drain pipe, created to accompany my L.A. River Network Pack (link below).

Disclaimer: Crediting this properly – the drain pipe is based on the vanilla water drain pipe. So the model and texture are not mine. I just removed what I didn’t want and shrunk it way down to a normal size, like the vanilla one was HUGE!

The water drain pipe functions, and polluted water comes out, but weirdly not at the front of the asset, it seems to just appear in the river, don’t know how to fix placement of this. I messed about with this a while but water is a complicated beast in this game. The vanilla drain pipe has an animation of sewage flowing out of the pipe, I tried to keep this in and it shows in the asset editor and details matching up, but just doesn’t show in game, don’t know why.

Personally I procedural objects / PO the ones on the river itself, just like props and use the animated waterfall asset on the workshop to act like water coming out of the pipes.

I haven’t tested this extensively, so have a play around, and let me know if you know how to fix the issue above.

Includes:

  • 1 Water Drain Pipe

  • Functions as a Water Drain Pipe in-game
  • The Sewage Outlet level is 750, compared to 7500 for the the vanilla/base game’s water drain pipe. Meaning you will need 10 of these to match the production of one vanilla water drain pipe.
  • If you are using my water drain pipes and also have a vanilla or other more powerful water drain pipe on your map, you’ll probably find water will only come out of the more powerful DP. If you want water coming out of mine, then suggest using only them and place enough to keep your citizens happy. I haven’t tested this extensively but found keeping the water availability (shown in the main water menu), just above yellow was near the sweet spot. Too high, and you’ll get a lot of water coming out, not enough and too little.
  • I’m no expert on water mechanics in this game, they seem really complicated and it’s a game of trail and error to get the right level.
  • Personally, I don’t use these as intended, I often just use Procedural Objects and PO them like a prop.
