Plattenbau IW84-IB Halle "Nördliche Innenstadt"
Hello Folks,
today’s huge pack of Plattenbau’ spend around two months in the making, and now I can finally share it with you. The original idea for this project was started back in January, 2021.
I picked it up again in early 2022, mostly to tie up some loose ends and tick it off my to-do list.
These colorful blocks are standardized East German "Plattenbau" buildings with a (sometimes) colored concrete facade. Some blocks have the same layout, but different different facade colors, added balconies, protruding windows or ornamental tiling.
Altogether these 28 blocks can be used in conjunction with normal European residential buildings, or fill city districts on their own. The curved and corner blocks also make them very flexible with different street layouts.
Included is also 6 meter wide connector building which fits over narrow streets or pedestrian paths.
The final result is an interesting to look at, rather colorful city district which still holds a rather big amount of residents.

This building type originated in Halle (Saale) and was only built there, all over the city. The plans for these buildings were finished in the late 1980s.
Every building has a front and back entrance with a staircase connecting the 3 to 6 floors of each block.
These particular blocks and their color schemes are taken from Halle, "Nördliche Innenstadt". Sometime in the future I might also create the versions from the other city districts.

The 28 included buildings have been named by a system I hope is at least somewhat understandable.
"HAL" sorts them to my other assets from Halle (Saale).
"IW84" stands for "Industrieller Wohnungsbau" or "Industrial apartment construction", "84" indicating the year the blocks have been planned.
"-IB" is short for "Innennstadtbebauung" (inner city housing).
"E# or G#" is the original designation for each block variation.
"-#G" indicates the number of floors the building has.
The "No.#" stands for the general color of the building, the "_#" for a different variant of that same building (other tiles, different balconies and so on).

The 28 blocks can be found under their names, starting with "HAL IW84-IB" or alternatively by searching for "Plattenbau".
All windowframes are color-mapped, defaulting to the originally used brown color.
Here’s a list of all the HEX-colors used:
- brown: 332627
All blocks are on a 1×1 to 3×3 plot, the buildings are NOT flush with the plot lines.
When placing them next to each other, Move It is required.
The buildings can also only be used with the RICO mod. They are level 1 high residential buildings with 8 to 18 homes each.
If used without RICO mod, they stay functionless unique buildings.
The main texture files and some of the LOD textures are shared, so using the Loading Screen Mod to tremendiously cut down on file size is advised.
