Description:
This asset is RICO only!

Hello Folks,

today’s pack of buildings was created over the span of five months, and is now finally finished. Included are 3 working office blocks and an abandoned building.
These colorful blocks are standardized East German office buildings with a colored glass facade and metal framework. Each building has 350 working spaces.
If you enjoy the look of them, let me know, as I plan to create more of these in the future.

This building type originated in Leipzig, hence it’s called "Typ Leipzig". It was built all around former East Germany and Poland with varying facade colors, number of floors and so on.
Each building is made up of a metal beam framework which also carries the floor plates. Between these beams are the windows and the colored glass facade.
All of this together results in a standardized building type which is easy to produce and construct, relatively cheap and customizable to individual needs.
One downside of this lightweight design is that it isn’t very robust. As seen with the abandoned version, the glass facade shatters pretty easily.

The 4 included buildings have been named by a system I hope is at least somewhat understandable.
"DDR" sorts them to my other assets from former East Germany.
"MLK" stands for "Metallleichtbaukombinat", the name of the company which produced these buildings. I use this abbreviation to group all buildings of this type together.
"-OF" is short for office, to indicate the office subtype for these "MLK"-buildings.
"1800" is the amount of millimeter between the vertical beams on the front and back facade.
"360" is the floor height in centimeter.
"5G" indicates the number of floors per block.
The "No.1" stands for the general design the building is.
"-A" is added for the abandoned version.

The 4 blocks can be found under their names, starting with "DDR MLK-OF 1800-360-5G" or alternatively by searching for "Plattenbau".
The glass facade of each building is colormapped, 4 close to original colors included.

Here’s a list of all the facade HEX-colors used:

  • red: 5A1510
  • orange: 90692E
  • blue: 1D494B
  • green: 536428

All blocks are on a 10×3 plot, the building itself is NOT flush with the plot lines.
The buildings can only be used with the RICO mod. They are level 2 office buildings with 350 workers each.
If used without RICO mod, they stay functionless unique buildings.

The abandoned version is its own standalone building which can be found and placed via "Find it! 2".
It does NOT replace the derelict version once it gets abandoned. This is a purely cosmetic building.

The main texture files and some of the LOD textures are shared, so using the Loading Screen Mod to cut down on file size is advised.
