Left-Hand 2-Lane Road with Dedicated Tram — for Transit Hubs
First, and foremost, I need to give full credit to BadPeanut for his creation of the 2 Lane Road with Dedicated Tram. His road is the best implementation of a dedicated tram lane in a small road that I’ve found to date.
My modification of his road is four-fold.
- I reversed the car lanes (if your city is a drive-on-the-right city, this road will be a drive-on-the-left road). Note that the tram lanes are still drive-on-the-right.
- I painted to the roadway black to blend in with my other drive-on-the-left roads and to stand out from the normal roads.
- I added some trees to the very edge of the road because I love trees.
- I replaced the standard street lamps with smaller park-type lamps since the large street lamps conflicted with my latest transit hub designs — I wanted something more aesthetically appealing in the hubs.
I did these things because I tend to put my big transit hubs inside of roundabouts, and a drive-on-the-left road was a better fit for this usage scenario. I had to keep the trams as drive-on-the-right, though, to properly link up with the city-wide tram system.
Traffic Manager: President Edition is recommended for the fine-grained control over the lanes at the junctions.
