Description:

READ REQUIRED CONFIGURATION BELOW. The original Traffic++ mod is outdated, broken, and all of it’s functionality has long since been replaced by TM:PE. That doesn’t mean that old assets/saves have been updated to work without the roads the original mod provided though.

That’s where this mod comes in. Use it to be able to load any assets/saves that used roads from Traffic++. This provides all roads and loads the mod in Ghost Mode by default allowing it to load without errors.

Make sure you’ve unsubscribed Traffic++ for this mod to work.

Loading Screen Mod, Save Our Saves, and TM:PE have all been added as requirements because they highlight compatibility issues you’ll otherwise run into loading old assets/saves. If you really don’t want to be alerted to any compatibility issues and are absolutely sure your game is running perfectly then you can skip installing them.

I’ve also added [ Backward Compatibility ]  New Roads For Network Extension 2 to the required mods. It adds more roads that old assets/saves are frequently missing. Check the required configuration below! You can skip installing it if you know you won’t need it or don’t want the upfront hassle.

New Roads:

Caution: If used, the custom roads will be included in your save games… which means you’ll need Traffic++ to load them without errors. If you want to disable Traffic++, but still open those save games, enable Ghost Mode.

Road Customiser:

Other Features:
  • Ghost Mode – this disables the mod, but leaves behind just enough code to load saves/maps/assets that use custom roads.
  • Multi-track stations (by Sims firehouse) – allows train station assets to have multiple platforms (like this one), no need to use the separate Multi-track Station Enabler mod as Sims kindly gave us the code to put in Traffic++!
  • Realistic speeds – makes vehicles and pedestrians use more realistic speeds (for experienced mayors!)
  • Prevent vehicle despawn – prevent vehicles from disappearing in traffic jams (for experienced mayors!)

Known Bugs / Gripes:
  • Bridges: The join between suburban streets and bridges is grim; use a short stretch of normal road before the bridge
  • Wrong road textures used when zoomed out
  • Some workshop mods are incompatible with Traffic++ (List here)
  • Report a Bug…

I hope you enjoy this mod. Have fun!

Required Configuration:

In the Roads For NeExt 2 mod options disable the One-Lane Oneway With Two Bicycle Lanes under the Tiny tab (first tab, last option) except if you aren’t using both Network Extensions 2 and [ Backward Compatibility ]  New Roads For Network Extension 2 at the same time.

Then after you’ve loaded your assets/saves you can use RON to change these roads to something else.

Once you’re done you can safely leave this enabled so things don’t break if you run into any other old assets/saves that used roads from Traffic++.

Technically none of the required mods are hard requirements but installing this on its own doesn’t make much sense.
