Description:

This is the official map of Czardus’s Wakashan Bay series, a community driven let’s play experience on YouTube.

What do I mean by community driven?

Every viewer has an opportunity to participate whether simply through making suggestions, voting in city-wide elections, or even by serving on the city council. See more details here: How it will work[www.patreon.com]

Fictional Background

As climate change is beginning to ravage the world, a group of people begin to move to Vancouver Island, Canada, settling in a location called Wakashan Bay. With its climate tempered by the Pacific Ocean, the site is expected to see less impact from the devastating effects of climate change. With its natural harbor, it has potential to become a new port; however it won’t be easy because the terrain is very challenging for development.

Real World Background

This is a very difficult map which is mostly undeveloped. I’ve taken terrain from just NE of Ucluelet, British Columbia, and while I’ve flattened a few spots to improve the potential for building a city, a lot of the terrain is unusable. I HIGHLY recommend using 81 Tiles. If you need help learning how to use this mod, see my tutorial.

There is also only one single 2-lane highway on the map (see the required items on the right sidebar), leading from the single external road connection to the start square. This is to encourage the builder to make specific choices about where any larger highways will go as well as encourage the builder to use ship and plane connections instead. There are no rail connections. If you want to add more land connections, you will need to use Unlimited Outside Connections.
