Description:

The Insignia Country Tourer is the crossover variant of the Insignia, a mid-size car sold by German automaker Opel from 2008 to recently in 2022 in two generations. Like every Opel nowadays, it’s sold in the United Kingdom as a Vauxhall, but it was also sold in both North America and China as a Buick.

This particular car is of the first-generation, which debuted at the 2008 British International Motor Show (as a Vauxhall) and was produced from 2008 to 2017, replacing the Vectra before it. As Opel was still owned by GM at the time, the Insignia was built on the Epsilon II platform, which many mid-size GM cars, as well as a certain car use. Like the Vectra before it, the Insignia was offered either as a sedan, a liftback or an estate, but the former two have more subtle designs that make them indistinguishable at first glance.

The first-gen Insignia Country Tourer debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and was sold up until production of the second-generation Insignia started. The Country Tourer started production just as the Insignia itself recieved a facelift and featured many of the changes, including a revised exterior design, a modernized interior and new safety features.
