This large palace is loosely based on Préfecture du Nord in Lille, France. Similar to a lot of french buildings from the mid 19th century, its style of architecture closely resembles the work of Georges-Eugène Haussmann, who is primarily known for the reconstruction of Paris as requested by Napoléon III.
