Minute Maid Park
Minute Maid Park is home to the Houston Astros, the 2022 MLB World Series champions! To commemorate their win I decided to model the stadium.
Minute Maid Park is located in downtown Houston, Texas and was opened in 2000 as Enron Field. The team moved from their previous stadium, The Astrodome. Houston’s old Union Station was incorporated in the ballpark and now operates as a main entrance, atrium space, team store, and team offices. To tie the location’s train history with the stadium, there is a replica 19th century steam engine that moves and whistles when the Astros hit a homerun ball. The stadium features a retractable roof allowing games to be played in open air or an enclosed environment. Seating capacity is 41,168.
This asset requires the Campus DLC for Varsity Sports. By default the roof will be open. When a game is going on in the stadium the roof will close. The roof is usually closed for games due to Houston’s hot weather. I also had it set that way to hide the empty bleacher texture during a simulated game.
