Mediterranean Highlands
This is my first attempt at a Cities:Skylines map and I learned a lot during the hours of it’s creation. I love this map for all it’s small creeks cutting through the mountains and flowing together into a larger stream.
The height variations will make building a challenge here and there, but that is part of the fun! Another purposely placed challenge is traffic on the main entrance to the city – inspired by what you can find in the real world location.
This map is based on terrain heightmaps of Ronda, Spain. I used a heightmap from https://heightmap.skydark.pl.
Only requirement to play is the Mass Transit DLC and Content Creator Pack: Bridges & Piers. This is due to the 2-lane highway networks and the Bridges used for the Tayo Canyon. Intersecton Marketing Toolk and TM:PE were used to setup junctions and interchanges, but I’m only starting with those, so don’t expect too much. The mods are not required but I would recommend them.
For the screenshots I have two different sets of map themes and LUTs.
– a lush mediterrainean landscape use Praria map theme and CLARITY LUT
– dryed out environment uses the Relight Bleak LUT and the CoosBay map theme
There are quite a lot of trees on this map, short of the 250k vanilla Limit. This could affect performance if your computer isn’t up for it. The rivers on the map may act a little wonky because of how small and shallow they are. I have put in multiple water sources along the path of the rivers to smooth out the flow.
Big thanks to the CS Map Makers Discord and especially AvoirRev and uncle ron for their hand holding!
