Description:

Valdivia was a planned community some time in the 70s. A spot within a picturesque rainforest had been selected and first infrastructure projects were built. However, the corrupt government was overthrown during an uprising. The plans for Valdivia disappeared in some filing cabinet, collecting dust. Except by some farmers, the region was forgotten and the rainforest reclaimed its habitat. Until now, when a new government rediscovered the files and wants to continue the development. As an experienced city planner, you have been suggested to be in charge of the new project. Construction companies have been sent ahead to clear some of the land. Will you take on the job and develop Valdivia into a bustling and flourishing city?

Valdivia (just the map, not the story) is based on the real city of Valdivia in southern Chile, which has very interesting wetlands and rivers. I made some topographic adjustments for a better gameplay. I started making this map in May 22, but had a small pause from CS in between and only finished it now (Note to myself: Too many technical changes in 9 months – never drag out for so long again.)

All connections available. Resources partly used for painting but also available for harvesting.
Trees: ~224,000

Required items

All assets in the map collection
Theme Mixer 2 and the corresponding settings and themes (see screenshot or uploaded settings). Technically it’s no requirement, but the map will just look very different without it.

No DLC

Suggested items (also included in the Map Collection)

Intersection Marking tool
Node Controller Renewal.
I strongly suggest to use the two above, because I did not pay a lot of attention to optimizing nodes without these mods.
Hide It! With „Shore Area“ enabled (Or any other Mod that allows for that setting). Otherwise the wetlands and river shores will look ugly and not like I intended.

Important information!

This map is not compatible with Tree Anarchy! (Tree Anarchy needs to be unsubscribed, not just deactivated). I used Remove Tree Anarchy during the process to restore a broken save file. I am not happy about that too, but I spent so much time on that map, that I will upload it anyway. Unfortunately, I don’t have any functioning save files from before that step. If Tree Anarchy is essential for you, then I’m sorry this map is not for you. If you don’t need or use it anyway, then I hope you will enjoy this map.
Tree LOD Fix, Random Tree Rotation and even the old Unlimited Trees still seem to be working, in case you want any of those functions. I used the first two for the screenshots.

For Theme Mixer and Render It! settings as used in the screenshots, see last screenshot. But feel free to find your own Render It look.

I hope you enjoy the map and please rate up if you like it!
