Meri-Pori, Finland

**Please notice:
At the moment (September 24th 2022) map loads only with Unlimited trees mod revisited active. It seems not to work with newer Tree Anarchy mod. I’m not sure how well the mod works when you play the map (Mod creator says Unlimited trees revisited mod has been deprecated).

Map is based on location in south-west Finland, near the city of Pori, but the actual city centre is just outside the map area. Meri means ”sea” in Finnish and word ”Pori” comes from Swedish word ”borg”, meaning ”castle” or ”fort”.

Map has most of the real world infrastructure: road network and 4 outside connections, 1 rail, 4 ship connections, wind mills, Kaanaa Water tower (it’s placed where the real one is) etc. There are harbour and industrial areas, some pre-built farms (just for visuals), summer cottages, neighbourhoods and villages such as Yyteri, Reposaari, Ahlainen and Pihlava.

For better game play, the main highway is a bit upgraded from the current real world version and highway outside the area is moved closer to allow better distribution of traffic.

There are 222,222 pines, spruces, birches and other trees placed.

Map is intended for modded game play, such as 81 tiles, but it should be playable with vanilla rules.

I recommend this Hide it -setting: Hide shore area (to avoid dead trees near water and greener shores).

I have used Intersection Marking Tool mod and Node controller, I did not test how the map looks without them.

Map theme is designed to use with this type of flat-ish terrain and it has reasonable size textures (not everyone has too much RAM).

Environment changer mod (or alternatively Theme mixer 2) is needed to load the theme — sorry about that, I made the theme first for an another (not yet released) map and forgot this uses a different base theme.

**HUOM! Ainakin tätä kirjoittaessa 24.9. kartta vaikuttaa toimivan vain Unlimited Trees Revised modin kanssa. Uudempi Tree Anarchy Mod ei toimi. Tuo ensin mainittu modi on tekijänsä mukaan vanhentunut, joten en ole varma miten hyvin se pelatessa toimii.

Kartta perustuu Porin kaupunkiin kuuluvaan alueeseen Lounais-Suomessa, mutta varsinainen keskusta-alue jää ulkopuolelle.

Olennaisin alueen infrasta on kartalla, isot ja pienemmät tiet, 4 tieyhteyttä, 1 rautatie, 4 laivareittiä, tuulivoimapuistot, Kaanaan vesitorni oikealla paikallaan jne. Satamat ja teollisuusalueet löytyy, joitain maatiloja ja kesämökkejä ulkonäön vuoksi, alueen kyliä ja asuinalueita.

Pelattavuuden parantamiseksi päivitin Mäntyluodon pikatielle pari eritasoliittymää, ne vastaa suunnilleen alueen yleiskaavaa. 8-tietä — mikä jää todellisuudessa kartan ulkopuolelle — siirsin kartan reunalle, jotta liikenne jakautuisi paremmin. Myös autolauttayhteys Ruotsin Sundsvalliin on taas elvytetty 🙂

Karttaa testattu suosittelemieni modien kanssa kuten 81 tiles, kaikki ei liene pelaamisen kannalta välttämättömiä. Environment Changer tai Theme Mixer 2 tarvitaan, jotta tekemäni teeman voi ladata, kun kartan avaa.
