Rohan, Middle Earth Updated 12-2017
UPDATE 12-2017 Updated with proper highway and rail, and river banks are also up to standard – soft banks rather than unrealistic cliffs. Pics 2 to 6 are from this revision.
A little plain, but hey, this is the grasslands of Rohan, Middle Earth. Included is Edoras Fortress HIll in the center. The actual location of the filming of Rohan is Mount Sunday, Canterbury, New Zealand.

Plenty of resources (fewer trees, of course), good water flow, lots of flat land to grow a decent sized city.
