Description:
Breakdown Revisited

See where your city’s traffic actually comes from. Click any building, road, vehicle, or district and instantly see the top origin→destination pairs driving traffic through it — ranked by volume, broken down by route type, and smoothed over time with the Average mode.

Breakdown Revisited is a community revival of the original Breakdown by whyoh[github.com], updated and extended for Cities: Skylines 1.21.1-f9.

What it shows

  • Route popup — open any WorldInfoPanel (building, road, vehicle, citizen…) to see the top-25 district pairs generating traffic through that entity
  • City-wide accordion — in Traffic Routes mode, an expandable panel lists every district ranked by total connections, with per-connection breakdowns
  • Route type breakdown — hover any row for a tooltip showing the split between Pedestrians, Cyclists, Private Cars, Trucks, Public Transit, and City Services
  • Districts or road segments — toggle the display between district-level and road-segment-level origin/destination pairs
  • Average mode — switch from live snapshot to an exponential moving average (EMA) of traffic shares accumulated over the session; smooths out traffic spikes and shows longer-term patterns
  • Percentage display — Average mode shows each pair’s share of total city traffic (e.g. 12.3%) with colour-coded alerts for high-traffic corridors

How to use

  • Enable Traffic Routes (the route-visualisation overlay) in the game’s info view
  • Click any entity — a panel appears to the right listing the top routes
  • Use Districts / Roads buttons to switch display mode
  • After a few minutes of play, the Average button unlocks — click it for smoothed historical data
  • For a city-wide overview, open Traffic Routes without clicking anything — the accordion panel appears at the bottom

Compatibility

Compatible with Cities: Skylines 1.21.1-f9 and later 1.x. No Harmony dependency — uses only the standard ICities API and reflection. Should be compatible with most traffic and UI mods.

No known conflicts. If you find one, please report it on the GitHub issues page.
