Stop Stacker
Stop Stacker helps bus stop pits work like real multi-berth loading pockets in Cities: Skylines. When several buses are serving the same physical stop area and are already inside a supported bus pit, the mod can let queued buses use safe in-pit loading positions instead of waiting as ordinary traffic behind the lead bus.
Created by ScratchyBald, Stop Stacker is part of the same ScratchyBald Cities: Skylines mod family as Pedestrian Crossing Toolkit.
The mod groups nearby same-side bus stops into physical stop pockets, calculates berth positions for supported pit geometry, shows lightweight berth markers, and provides a floating inspector so you can see how Stop Stacker is reading each pit.
Latest Update
Bug reports can be submitted here:
https://github.com/GitHubbier182/scratchys-cities-skylines-mod-support/tree/main
Version 1.0.1 is a bug-fix update:
– Hardens startup bus-line scanning so malformed or temporarily incomplete line stop chains are skipped safely instead of risking a load stall.
– Adds bounded diagnostic evidence when Stop Stacker skips unsafe line data during citywide physical stop-slot planning.
– Keeps the v1.0.0 bus pit stacking, berth markers, queued passenger service, and floating pit inspector behavior intact.
– Keeps bus lane metadata, route refreshes, and external transit automation out of scope.
Requirements
– Cities Harmony is required.
Compatibility
Stop Stacker is designed to be a focused bus stop pit helper, not a full public transport manager. It should work alongside major traffic and transit mods because it does not change road rules, bus lane priority, pathfinding preferences, or transport line routing.
It is expected to be compatible with Traffic Manager: President Edition, Advanced Vehicle Options, More Vehicles, Stops & Stations, and Public Transport Unstucker.
Improved Public Transport 2, Express Bus Services, Advanced Stop Selection Revisited, and Transport Lines Manager adjust nearby bus or public transport behavior, so they are best treated as compatible but worth testing in your own city. If you use those mods and see unusual stop movement, bus dwell, boarding behavior, or load-time stalls, please report it with the relevant [StopStacker] log lines.
Current Features
– Same-side physical stop grouping for bus stop pockets.
– Multi-berth bus pit calculation where the road geometry is suitable.
– Conservative fallback when geometry is ambiguous or unsupported.
– Lightweight berth flags rendered near calculated berth positions.
– Floating pit summary with berth and line information.
– Bounded diagnostic logging with the [StopStacker] prefix.
Known Limits
– Stop Stacker only targets real bus-category vehicles with an active line and valid target stop.
– Buses outside the service pit are ignored by the loading helper.
– Unsupported or unclear stop geometry falls back conservatively instead of creating speculative extra berths.
– Passenger path visuals can still look like vanilla passengers moving between nearby berth points.
– The mod does not change bus lane priority, pathfinding preferences, road metadata, or transport line routing.
– Bus Lane Priority and Auto Public Transit are not required.
