Description:

Originally constructed in 1899, the Emery Bird Thayer Lofts (a.k.a. EBT Lofts) functioned as the main warehouse for the Emery, Bird, Thayer Dry Goods Company. The Kansas City company employed such names as William Powell, Joan Crawford and Jeanne Eagels in their youths. In 1935, Herbert Wilson took the presidential post at the company; Wilson would go on to be credited as one of the inventors of boxer shorts.

The 6-story building now serves as renovated loft space in the Kansas City Crossroads District.
