GAZ-22 "Volga"
GAZ (Gorky Automobile Plant) produced cars in Gorky / Nizhny Novgorod, the USSR / Russia. The car factory produced a car of the "universal" type, from 1962 to 1970.
In 1962, doctors demanded that the automotive ministry instead of GAZ-12 (ZiM) master a similar car based on the model of the middle class, as more simple to operate, economical and cheaper than the GAZ-13 GAZ-12 GAZ-13. To justify the minimum economically justified scale of output, it was also planned to create a cargo-and-passenger variant for trade organizations on the basis of the ambulance. Almost all of the cars that were produced were distributed between state organizations, mainly – ambulance service (more than half of the issue), trade organizations, there was no possibility to purchase it for personal use in the usual way.
