Siemens Desiro City Class 707 – SWR
The class 707, introduced into service in 2017, was built by Siemens under their Desiro City platform for use on South Western Trains (now South Western Railway) commuter services Reading and Windsor to London. The train comes in a formation of 5 coaches, often seen in running in tandem to form 10 coach trains, providing an increase in passenger capacity on lines running into London Waterloo. The train is fitted to operate on 750V DC third rail traction, with no pantograph fitted, with future conversion a simple process. In 2020 these trains are due to be withdrawn by SWR and replaced by newer class 701 Bombardier Aventras due to lower leasing costs, and will therefore be transferred to Southeastern.
This pack contains both the standard 5 coach train as well as a 10 coach (5+5) train, both in SWR interim livery with capacities of 380 and 760 passengers respectively.
This train has a real life top speed of 160 kph (100 mph) and is thus deemed an express train with an in game top speed of 150 kph (IPT2 train speed setting of 24).
