Welcome to BIG Parking Lots!

BIG Parking Lots is a set of roads, parking spaces and networks that let you build parking lots of any size and shape you can imagine for your malls, stadiums, industrial sites, office parks, airports, downtown areas and more.

This Basic Version is very easy to handle. You just need an anarchy mod and therefore it is suitable for players with little experience with mods and detailing. Over the next few weeks there will be several expansions that let you detail your parking lots to a large extent. These expansions are made for advanced players who know how to work with mods, especially Move It. I will explain the function of my assets in several short YouTube videos.

How does it work?

BIG Parking Lots Basic Version consists of 5 different kinds of assets:

  • DRIVE roads work as a connector between every common road and your parking lots.
  • BORDER roads have curbs only on one side. With these roads you simply “draw” the outline of your parking lot as a closed circuit counterclockwise. For Left Hand Drive draw the circuit clockwise.
  • FILLER roads fill up the blank spaces inside of the border. Fillers should be placed parallel to each other with a standard spacing of 3 units (24m).
  • PARKING SPACES can be plopped to the grid between your Fillers. They are fully functional.
  • CLIPPING REMOVER is needed when some weird things clip through the ground at some road angles.

What does this pack contain?

  • BPL Drive 2 Lane (Vanilla Version)
  • BPL Border 2 Lane (Vanilla Version)
  • BPL Filler 2 Lane (Vanilla Version)
  • BPL Parking Spaces 3×2
  • BPL Clipping Remover

Important things!

  • You need an anarchy mod to plop the parking spaces
  • Your whole parking lot should be placed on flat ground
  • It is very helpful to use the realistic parking option of Traffic Manager or your parking lots will stay mainly empty
  • You find the assets under the “Road Maintenance“ tab or you use Find It! and search for “BPL“
  • All roads use an equal amount of tris as the normal game roads and have a custom LOD
  • As all roads and networks consist of only 2 different textures you can use Loading Screen Mod to save RAM

Known issues:

You can’t connect BIG Parking Lots roads to tram roads because they are using tram connecting groups. To solve this I will release a DRIVE which works as a connector to tram roads.

  • dark asphalt version (now only possible with map themes or mods like Network Skins 2)

change notes:

  • 02/06/20 Problems with missing asphalt at some T-junctions solved
  • 15/06/20 arrows removed; z-fighting on sharp angles fixed; LOD problems fixed
