Description:

Replaces selected Vanilla in-game road signs with ones from the workshop. NOTE: no actual signs are included with this mod; you’ll need to download one of the supported prop packs.

Works on vanilla roads, Network Extension 2 roads, and any roads from the workshop that use the standard game road sign props. Support for roads with custom props has now been added for 0.3, starting with Macwelshman’s UK Road Project. Other roads with custom props can also be added; please nominate them in the comments below!

Currently supported prop packs are:

Instructions

In the mod settings panel (under the options menu), there’s two lists of recognised replacements – one for speed limit signs, and one for general signs. Only installed recognised packs are listed here (see the list above). Select the combination you want and hit ‘apply’.

Currently supported replacements are (these are the vanilla game signs):
Speed signs: 30, 40, 50, 60 and 100 speed limits
General road signs: stop, no parking, no right turn, no left turn, start motorway.

Any other in-game roadsign type can also be added if you wish to nominate any.

This started out as a simple project to replace the vanilla speed signs with Australian ones, but due to this effect[xkcd.com] has ended up being much more than that. I’ve been sitting on it for a little while; but I’m still not 100% happy with the UI in particular, and would like some feedback on that, any additional sign replacements to add, and any additional features that people would find useful.

NOTE: Currently only replaces props according to vanilla behaviour. Dynamically changing speed limit signs for each individual segment of road depending upon custom TM:PE speed limits would be really cool, but isn’t feasible at this stage. Custom speeds for each *type* of road following consistent speed limits is possible (e.g. if you change all your grass-lined roads to have 60km/h speed limits), and something I’m looking at.

This mod doesn’t affect your savegame at all, and can be safely removed at any time.

As it’s still in development, suggestions for new features and sign packs are welcome!
