Description:
Hello Everyone…

Welcome to my first map, Golden Port. This is a map with large and flat buildable space surrounded by forests and farmland, mountains backgrounds, swamps, sandy beaches and large harbor area. Suitable to play with 9 tiles, 25 tiles and 81 tiles.

This map is based on (not a replica) real world location of Semarang city [earth.google.com], the capital city of Central Java province, Indonesia . This map is about 1:1 scale from real world locations with a few adjustments and additions.

Please don’t forget to giving a thumbs up if you subscribe to this map 🙂

Visual Mods and LUT (used in screenshot)

If you want the map to look like on the screenshot image, you need to use Realistic LUT v1.2 (but you can try another LUT if you wish) and visual mods below (my settings for all visual mods are shown in the second image above, but you can just change the setting to your own preference if you wish):

Strongly Recommended
• Daylight Classic : for better in-game daytime lighting, reduce yellow light
• No Radioactive Desert & More : hide the shoreline effect, so the trees are not dying

Optional
• Clouds & Fog Toggler : disable the clouds and fog for better in-game visibility
• Tree LOD Fix : for better trees LOD when viewed at medium or far distance

(+) Ultimate Eyecandy : only needed if you want the sunrise and sunset location on the map to match the real-world east and west (with my setting in the second image). if you don’t want to recreate the location or you don’t mind the sun position you don’t really need to use this mod, and the map will look the same as the screenshot.

Map Gameplay and Statistics

OUTSIDE CONNECTIONS
4/4 Highway Connections
2/4 Railway Connections
4/4 Airplane Connections
4/4 Ship Connections

NATURAL RESOURCES
All natural-resources are available and accessible in 9 tiles or 25 tiles gameplay.
Tip : You can add or clear the forestry ground resource by planting or bulldozing trees in the area that you want.

WATER
There is a sea and 2 flowing rivers on the map.
There is pre-build water pumps and sewage treatments in the harbor area with connected pipe to the starting square. Polluted water from pre-built sewage treatment that drained on the shore will disappear from the map with water spawn point trick.

Note : not recommended to pump clean water and drain sewage on the river in this map because the river is narrow and shallow (in the perspective of this game), it cannot carry much clean water and sewage, unless the clean water can dry up or the sewage can overflow the river. Use water pump and sewage drain on the sea, or you can use inland water pump/tower and inland sewage treatment.

TREES
205k/250k trees plopped in the map. You can plop another 45k trees on the map. If you want to plop more than 250k tree on your map you can use Unlimited Trees mod.
All the trees used in this map are low tri and low file size for better game performance even on low spec PC.
Tip : Always delete the trees before you build roads or buildings in the area, because if you don’t delete them the game will still count the trees even if you can’t see them because they are covered by buildings or roads.

Map Features & Real-World Location Aspects

1. Roads & Interchanges
• All interchanges on this map are hand drawn. 4 of the interchanges are original interchanges from the real world locations (3 trumpet interchanges and 1 diamond interchanges). Other interchanges are my modifications of existing interchanges/intersections in the real world in order to make better traffic in the game.
• The roads in real world location is Left Hand Traffic (the same as Japan, UK, etc.)
• All elevated roads have a good height for all vehicles to pass on the road below them
• Highway on this map are based on Pantura/Pantai Utara (North Coast) National Road and Trans-Java Toll Road. The highway and national road in the real world location is a two-lane highway, but in this map I made it with vanilla three-lane highway.
• I built some of city main roads based on the real world, you can delete them if you don’t want those roads.
• There are 2 medium roads leading to the edge of the map, in real world it’s a connecting road to the surrounding area, but I don’t make it as outside connections because the dummy traffic from that outside connection can cause a traffic jam on the map unless you use a mod like Advanced Outside Connections mod to control dummy traffic.

2. Railyard
Railyard on this map are based on real world train station and locomotive depot.

3. Waterfall, Reservoir and Mini-dam
The reservoir and Mini-dam on this map are downscaled and customized from existing dam and reservoir in real world location. The waterfall doesn’t exist in real world location, it was just an addition that came from my imagination.

4. Swamp Areas, Sandy Beaches, and Underwater Painting
Swamp area based on real world location, but the shapes and patterns are not exactly the same. I created the swamp only with ore texture and tree patterns on it. The sandy beaches are made using oil texture. Underwater of the sea is painted with oil and ore texture to follow the real-world underwater colors that can be seen on google earth.

5. Harbor Area
A quay-ed harbor area based on harbor area in the real-world location, the harbor area has a realistic height (not too high) above the sea water level to build a ship dock.

6. Mountains Backdrop
Mountains backdrop based on real world backdrop that can be seen on google earth (Mt. Ungaran, Mt. Merbabu, Mt. Sumbing, Mt. Sundoro, etc.). The mountains were not within the actual distance and size of the real-world, they were just for decorations.

7. Farmland
Farmland was created to fill empty spaces, inspired by farmland from around real-world location.
