Hong Kong Tram – 香港電車 (Cantonese Yale: hūeng gǒng dìn chē)

The city’s living history.

Strolling across Victoria City since 1904, the Hong Kong Tramway now is the world’s only still operating fully double-decker tram system. Which uses double decker trams exclusively to travel through busy business district and bustling city centre.

It may be the most recognizable tram in the world, the icon of Hong Kong is the local’s favorite transportation method in the city, at the same time a must-ride tourist attraction. It’s a pleasant way to travel around the rapid-paced city through slow but elegant trams, pretty romantic.

Under the pandemic, riding a tram and enjoy the scenery are becoming a new popular activity.
August 2020, the tram company has coated two of its tram with their new mascot – the Ding Ding Cat (which is a cat in a bell). While everywhere is filled with viruses and despair. Just to makes us heart a little warmer.

On the right side writes “打開窗打開心窗；這趟叮叮，你聽到你的心嗎？”
Which means "Free your heart and open your soul, on this tram journey have you listened to yourself?"

And with the left side writes “隨心看用細心看；這趟叮叮，你發現了不一樣的世界嗎？”
Which means "See with your heart look as you please, on this tram journey did you discover a different world?"

With the cat waving goodbye on the back and wishes you to have a wonderful day.

Me personally, a cat person, and I like trams, I can wait for an hour just to get on this specific tram. Big fan of it.
