Description:

This is Diverging Diamond Interchange. It’s a ‘service interchange’, connecting a highway to a regular road network. It’s a fun interchange where traffic is forced to drive in the opposite direction! The Diverging Diamond Interchange has a better traffic flow than a regular Diamond Interchange.

Want to see how it works? Watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0sM6xVAY-A

– Cost: 20.840,-
– Maintenance: 241,-
– Lane mathematics are applied for a good traffic flow.
– Traffic lights on this interchange only have two steps!

**IMPORTANT**
– To make this interchange work as intended the use of the TM:PE mod is absolutely necessary. Use the screenshots above as a guideline.
– With TM:PE you can disable crosswalks but they remain visible. Subscribe to the ‘Hide Crosswalks’ mod to VISUALLY remove the crosswalks as well.

Note: make sure that you give the cars some room (at least two nodes) after this interchange to give them the chance to change lanes after leaving the interchange. (because of the lane connectors)

Enjoy!

I’ve created updated versions of existing interchange types by applying ‘lane mathematics’. With the use of several mods I’ve also managed to reduce the amount of nodes to a minimum and create smooth transitions between different road segments to create a smooth traffic flow. Want to know how ‘Lane mathematics’ work and how to use the functions of TM:PE? I recommend watching some of Biffa’s traffic fixing video’s at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLR5G_Kc9r-JDza2Bzd2GIA01_jVyHhhXw.
