Nomanisan
No assets, mods, or DLC’s are required to play this map. Having said that, there is a recommended mods section in the description with an explanation on what subscribing to the mod enables.

In order to make a vanilla map look halfway decent, a custom Map Theme and LUT are needed. A custom Map Theme was specifically created for this map called Volcanic 4K . This theme was created while using the Laviante LUT. This map can be played without the custom Map Theme and LUT, but it will significantly diminish the visual looks of the map.
Geographic diversity and scaling techniques were used to try and make the map feel larger. The buildable areas were distanced from each other to make each area seem far apart and unique. Some geographic features include: Caldera, active volcano, natural breakwater, river valley, river canyon, rolling hills, and archipelago. The caldera was inspired by Caldeira das Sete Cidades.
This map is perfectly playable on 25 tiles, but the 81 Tiles mod is needed to take full advantage of all the features. Although you do not need a DLC to play this map, it was specifically designed with Mass Transit, Industries, Sunset Harbor, and Airports DLC’s in mind. This map has all 4 road, rail, boat, and plane connections. An overview of all the map features and locations in the 25 tile grid is included in the pictures.
This allows access to all the maps features and makes them look as intended (e.g. Dam terrain, Castle gravel paths)
I did my best to eliminate the in building tree clipping at the Dam and the Castle, but there is still some. This mod can remove vanilla trees from buildings to eliminate clipping and general ugliness. Great mod especially now that we have “vanilla” Mr. Maison trees we can use instead.
If you want to have the nice crystal blue water like in the pictures, use the Hide It! mod to hide shore. This gets rid of the ruining texture under the water. These two mods can make CS vanilla assets look much more realistic.
The Road Anarchy mod will allow you to plop harbor type buildings in the fishing harbor without destroying the “sea wall.” Turn off collision and turn on anarchy in the mod. Move it helps with adjusting building position for the perfect fit.
These mods allow you to turn on Classic Fog and use cube maps. I prefer Fog Controller over Daylight Classic to turn on Classic Fog. Abandoned Parking from the HDRI Haven Cubemap Pack 3 was used in the pictures.
Turning Tree LOD to “Ultra” and then using Ultimate Level of Detail to lower tree rendering distance to below game default can make the trees look good and save frame rate. This is useful for maps with high tree counts or if you play CS on a potato.
- There was a water contamination issue that has been resolved with a map update. See change notes for details.
- There is some tree clipping at the dam and the castle. Eliminate this issue using the Vanilla Trees Remover mod.
- No road traffic from two lane hiway. The road connection works and has been verified through testing, but for some reason CS does not have pass through traffic come from this outside connection.
- Initial flooding at fishing port when first buying the tile or using 81 Tiles mod.
- Initial flooding at dam when first buying the tile or using 81 Tiles mod. There will be an initial ripple wave through the river that will subside.
- If the simulation is left paused at initial load and the 81 Tile mod is used, the flooding at the dam makes some of the paths change height. Let the simulation run so initial flooding subsides at the dam prior to using the 81 tile mod to prevent this issue.
The exposure/lighting of the Volcanic 4K Map Theme is based on no mods and the Laviante LUT. Use of mods like Daylight Classic, Theme Mixer, Relight, or Ultimate Eye Candy can impact lighting. If you are using any of those mods, it may require the mod settings to be adjusted for optimum lighting. Also, adjustments will be needed if another LUT is used.
